This thesis discusses the legal protection provided to consumers in online buying and selling transactions or e-commerce in Indonesia. This research will examine various laws and regulations that regulate consumer rights in online transactions, and analyze their effectiveness and implementation challenges. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide insight into efforts to increase consumer protection in the e-commerce environment in Indonesia.
In this thesis, the author will also analyze legal cases involving consumers and e-commerce in Indonesia, both those that ended in satisfactory resolutions and those that gave rise to conflict. This research will include literature studies, regulatory reviews, as well as interviews with related parties, such as consumers, traders and regulatory agencies. The final aim of this thesis is to provide recommendations and guidance for improving legal policies that can further increase consumer protection in online buying and selling transactions in Indonesia, thereby creating a safer and more trustworthy e-commerce environment for all parties involved.
