Ice breaking is a cooling activity that makes students feel more comfortable in class or in carrying out a lesson. There are several types of games in ice breaking that require participants to think strategically and perform certain techniques to win. This can encourage participants to think more creatively and imaginatively in the tasks they get, therefore doing ice breaking can develop the creativity of the participants.
The purpose of this study was to determine the process of ice breaking activities carried out during Al-Quran tahsin learning and to determine whether there was an effect of ice breaking activities on students' learning motivation at MIM 3 Ngunut Ponorogo.This study uses a quantitative approach (quantitative research) with data management using a descriptive analysis program and testing hypotheses using SPSS 25 Windows while the analysis phase is a test of the validity of the reliability of linear normality and a simple linear regression test.
The results of the hypothesis test show the difference between T count and T table with a significance level of 5%. Obtaining data from the ice breaking variable (X) T count of 4.937 > than T table 2.2500 is strengthened by a comparison of the significance level (0.00 <0.05). This difference shows the effect of ice breaking on student learning motivation in the Al-Quran tahsin subject.
