Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP OF NURSE CARING WITH THE LEVEL OF PATIENT FAMILY SATISFACTION

ABSTRACT
Nurses who are concerned in providing nursing care to patients and families are nurses who have a caring attitude. Families of inpatients who accompany patients during treatment often experience dissatisfaction with treatment services. A nurse's poor caring attitude will also cause dissatisfaction with the patient's family. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between caring nurses and the level of satisfaction of the patient's family. The research design in this study is descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The research was carried out from September 1 to October 15 2023. Samples were taken using purposive sampling and 50 samples were obtained. Data were collected using a questionnaire and tested using Spearman rho. The research results showed that the majority (72%) or 36 respondents had good caring behavior and almost half (28%) or 14 respondents had sufficient caring behavior. Meanwhile, the majority of patient family satisfaction levels (68%) or 34 respondents said they were very satisfied, almost half (32%) or 16 respondents said they were satisfied. The results obtained were p value = 0.000 and alpha = 0.05. The conclusion of this research is p value (0.000) < a (0.05), meaning Ho is rejected, namely there is a significant relationship between caring nurses and the level of satisfaction of the patient's family in Flamboyan Room 2 RSU Darmayu Ponorogo. This research can be used as input for nurses to further improve caring behavior because it will have a psychological impact on patients and families. If the patient's family is satisfied, the family will be calm, which will have an impact on the patient's calm and of course speed up the patient's recovery process.
