Abstract
Chicken farming is an effort to breed chickens to obtain a source of income because chickens can provide both meat for consumption and eggs. To improve the quality of chickens, it is important to ensure the provision of good feed regularly, usually twice a day, generally in the morning and afternoon. Chicken feed can consist of grains and bran. Mixing livestock feed, especially for chickens, is still conventionally done using human resources. Manual feed distribution remains a problem for farmers because it consumes time and energy. Therefore, automatic feed mixer and dispenser technology is needed as a modern solution to facilitate farmers in mixing feed with more than one composition and automatic feed dispensing that can be set according to preference. Farmers only need to pour feed into the four storage tanks, each with a capacity of 1 kg, and set the age of the chickens to be fed, then the device will work automatically as desired. The main purpose of this device is to simplify the process of mixing and feeding for farmers because it is done automatically without having to mix feed ingredients using a bucket. This device utilizes Arduino Mega 2560 as the main controller with a DC motor wiper as the feed mixer driver and a load cell weight sensor to weigh the feed ingredients in the tanks. This device can mix four types of dry feed, consisting of fodder, bran, ground corn, and grits, and can mix them evenly within 3 minutes. The resulting mixture from this device is evenly mixed feed ready to be given to the chickens. The design of this mixer device is circular with a diameter of 40 cm. Additionally, this device is equipped with a NodeMCU ESP8266 which serves as a wifi module that can be connected to the Telegram application. The Telegram application on this device can facilitate farmers by providing information such as feed distribution schedules, chicken age, amount of feed dispensed, and the stock of feed ingredients in each tank
