Abstract

Mechanism “The election of Village Heads is regulated in article 31 of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages which states that the election of Village Heads is carried out simultaneously in all districts/cities. The phenomenon of village elections in Gedangan village is very interesting in terms of elections, including that the village head elected in the 2022 simultaneous village elections is the incumbent. Not only that, the village head has served for three terms. This research was carried out with the aim of finding out the Gedangan Village Head's strategy to win again in the 2022 Village Head Election in Gedangan Village and to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors for the Gedangan Village Head's victory in the simultaneous village elections.
This research was conducted using a qualitative approach. The location used as a research source is Gedangan Village, Ngrayun District, Ponorogo Regency, East Java Province. The results of this research are a political strategy to win the village head election in Gedangan Village, Ngrayun District, Ponorogo Regency, namely by relying on the main campaign program, namely creating a political product in the form of a vision and mission promoted by each candidate. The supporting factor is heredity. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factor is the lack of participation in the community.
