This thesis is entitled the independence of online mass media reporting "radarmadiun.jawapos.com" (analysis of reporting independence ahead of the 2024 Presidential Election period December 2023 - January 2024). The purpose of this study is to analyze the independence of the online mass media "radarmadiun.jawapos.com" in reporting the 2024 Presidential Election. This research uses data analysis techniques based on several important indicators in assessing independence, conducted through a qualitative approach including indicators such as the presence of opinions, personalization elements, sensationalism, stereotypes, juxtaposition or linkage, and accuracy. Data collection technique is conducted through documentation, which is the process of collecting information related to a research, in this case, the researcher gathers all information from the news published by the online mass media "radarmadiun.jawapos.com". The discussion is analyzed using indicators of the presence of opinions, personalization elements, sensationalism, stereotypes, juxtaposition or linkage, and accuracy. The analysis results show that "radarmadiun.jawapos.com" emphasizes reporting on one side. Thus, it can be concluded that "radarmadiun.jawapos.com" is not independent in its reporting.
