Abstract

Currently, advances in information technology are occurring rapidly. Many companies have adopted computerized information technology to support their operations. However, there are still a number of business fields that have not implemented computerized information technology, such as what happened at the Ar-Razi Farma Pharmacy. At this pharmacy, operational activities are still carried out manually without the support of information technology. The manual system used at the Ar-Razi Farma Pharmacy causes various problems that hinder the smooth running of activities at the pharmacy. Some of the problems that arise involve the accumulation of drugs, difficulty finding drug information, limitations in obtaining drug stock data which causes losses to pharmacies, namely the occurrence of drugs expiring. The medicines expired, causing a total loss of Rp. 2,300,200 with 186 drugs that have expired. Therefore, the author attempts to design a drug inventory management application using a selection sort algorithm. This system design uses a MySQL database and the PHP programming language. The drug inventory management application will automatically sort drugs based on expiration date by applying a selection sort algorithm. Recording drug data is no longer done manually, but has shifted to a management application as an effort to increase efficiency and minimize losses in pharmacies due to expired drugs. This research makes drug inventory management in pharmacies more organized with a drug inventory management application that increases efficiency and minimizes losses due to expired drugs.
