This thesis is entitled External Public Relations Communication Strategy in Maintaining Relations with the Public at the Dinas Komunikasi Informatika dan Statistik of Ponorogo Regency. The purpose of this research is to find out the external public relations communication strategy at Dinas Komunikasi Informatika dan Statistik of Ponorogo Regency in maintaining relationships with external publics, namely the community and the press. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method, which is a systematic strategy method in parsing words carefully in order to get the meaning of the data. This research uses data collection techniques of interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the interviews were analyzed and paired with data from observations and documentation so as to get the content of the discussion in the form of data. The data analysis techniques that this research uses are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion making. The results of this study show that the external public relations communication strategy at the Dinas Komunikasi Informasi dan Statistik of Ponorogo Regency by involving the theory of two-way-symmetrical communication methods to communicate with the public and the press has been implemented. The results of this study show that the strategy carried out by the Ponorogo Kominfo Office in conducting external public relations with the community and the press is to optimize the use of social media as a means of communicating with the public, collaboration with the press and the community in order to disseminate information that can be widely accepted. There is openness in communicating with the community and the press so that trust is formed. Public Relations of the Dinas Komunikasi Informatika dan Statistik of Ponorogo Regency in carrying out communication strategies through social media have also used educational, informative, and persuasive delivery methods.
