ABSTRACT
The Role of Women in Helping the Family Economy in Sambirejo Village, Jiwan District, Madiun Regency. This study aims to determine how the role of women as housewives and traders of daily staples in meeting the economic needs of the family as well as the impact of the dual role of women or housewives of staple traders to improve the economy for the fulfillment of the needs of clothing, food, shelter, health and education because previously they only relied on the husband's income which apparently could not meet the needs of the household. The method used is primary data through field research. Qualitative methods are measured by means of observation, interviews and documentation obtained from oral and written data. The analysis technique is through three processes, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of the research that the researchers have done, it can be concluded that: (1) Women traders of wholesale and retail basic necessities have the same background, namely due to low family economic factors and an unqualified level of education. (2) The role of women or housewives who are traders of daily necessities has a considerable impact on improving the economy of their families (3) Women or housewives who are traders of basic necessities in carrying out their dual roles, still prioritizing their obligations and responsibilities.
