THE INFLUENCE OF HEALTH COUNSELING USING AUDIO VISUAL MEDIA ON COMMUNITY KNOWLEDGE IN THE PREVENTION OF LEPTOSPIROSIS

Health education is a health promotive action in order to increase public knowledge. Education about Leptospirosis can involve various community groups, such as schools, communities and workplaces. Video media is a recording of live images or television programs, moving image shows accompanied by sound. Public knowledge after health education using Audio Visual Media regarding community knowledge in preventing leptospirosis is considered good.
The general aim of this research is to find out whether there is an influence of health education on public knowledge in preventing leptospirosis. This research uses a pre-experiential design method type one group pre test-post test. Before the health education was carried out, the results of the pre-test were in the poor category with a prevalence of 26 respondents (61.9%), post test knowledge after the health education was carried out was included in the good category (100%).
The statistical test used the Wilcoxon test with the research results obtaining the Asymp.Sig value. (2-tailed) of 0.000, it is concluded that H1 is accepted, namely that there is an influence of health education using Audio Visual Media on public knowledge in preventing leptospirosis in Kalikuning Village Tulakan District, Pacitan Regency.
Future researchers can conduct research on the effect of health education using Audio Visual Media on public knowledge in preventing leptospirosis using different assessment methods.
