Abstract
A power amplifier is an electronic device used to strengthen signals from music players. When there is an incoming signal, the signal will be amplified by the power amplifier driver circuit so that it can drive the speakers. Assembled power amplifiers generally do not have a safety system, if excessive current occurs, the power amplifier will suffer serious damage. For this reason, the author created an Overcurrent Protection System for Power Amplifiers with the aim of minimizing damage to the power amplifier and speakers. The way this system works is, when there is a current that exceeds a predetermined limit, the relay at the power amplifier output will automatically turn off. The main components used in making this system are the ACS 712 current sensor, Arduino UNO and a relay as a path breaker to the speaker. In this case, creating an Overcurrent Protection System for Power Amplifiers is expected to reduce the risk of damage to power amplifiers, especially due to excessive current.
