This study aims to: 1) To determine the effectiveness of caregivers of Muhammadiyah Ponorogo Child Welfare Institution in implementing career skills and life skills. 2) To determine the strategy for implementing career skills and life skills in Muhammadiyah Ponorogo LKSA. This study is a mixed method study with a population covering all foster children in LKSA Al-Amin Jetis, Al-Hikmah Beton, and Ar-Rohmah Joresan 167 populations with a sample of 97 foster children. Data collection techniques in this study were Observation, Questionnaires, Documentation, Interviews. Data analysis using SPSS was used to process research data.
The results of this study are: 1) The application of career skills and life skills is very effective, this can be seen from the aspects of self-direction initiative and cross-cultural social interaction. 2) There are several strategies implemented by caregivers in developing career skills and life skills at LKSA Muhammadiyah Ponorogo, including: a) Direct learning through learning after Maghrib and after Subuh, b) Cooperative learning strategies through group discussion activities and drama making activities, c) Independent learning through self-taught learning activities, searching from various learning sources, such as books, d) Project-based learning strategies through cooking training activities, sewing training, management training, financial training, marketing training, and social training.
