Abstract
This study examines the differences in perspectives between Islamic Law and Western Civil Law as applied in Indonesia concerning the status of adopted children and its impact on inheritance issues. In the context of Indonesian law, child adoption has significant social and legal implications, particularly regarding inheritance rights. Islamic Law does not grant automatic inheritance rights to adopted children from their adoptive parents, as inheritance is based on blood relations or lineage. In contrast, Western Civil Law grants full inheritance rights to adopted children following a legal adoption process. This research aims to analyze the inheritance status of adopted children under both legal systems and explore the relationship and legal implications in the inheritance process. Additionally, this study seeks to identify shortcomings in previous research that have not thoroughly addressed the inheritance rights of adopted children under Islamic Law and CivThis study examines the differences in perspectives between Islamic Law and Western Civil Law as applied in Indonesia concerning the status of adopted children and its impact on inheritance issues.
