Burns are one of the accidents that are difficult to avoid by the community. Some burns in the community often occur in the home environment, so knowledge is needed to provide proper first aid. Proper first aid in treating burns can reduce the negative impact on the community. Improper first aid and treatment of burns can harm a person. This study aims to determine whether burn first aid education is effective in increasing community knowledge of first aid knowledge on burns in Dsn. Buket.

This research is a pre-experiment design with one group pre-posttest design. The study population was 193 people of Dsn. Buket with a sample of 39 obtained through proportional random sampling. The research data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed rank test with a significance level ≤ 0.05.

The results showed that before the burn education was conducted, most of them had poor knowledge as many as 34 respondents or (87.2%) and sufficient knowledge as many as 5 respondents or (12.8%). And after burn education, respondents who had good knowledge were 36 respondents or (92.3%) and those who had sufficient knowledge were 3 respondents or (7.7%). Based on statistical tests with wilcoxon signed rank test obtained pvalue of 0.000 ≤ α (0.05) so that H1 is accepted, that burn first aid education is effective on improving first aid knowledge. first aid education is effective in increasing knowledge of first aid for burns burns in the community in Dsn. Buket in increasing knowledge, and information related to the definition of burns, causative factors, and efforts to prevent infection. prevention of infection.
