The government regulates laws governing life in prisons so that a safe, orderly and orderly prison environment can be created. To make this happen, the security team is one of the instruments for supervising correctional inmates in detention centers. Therefore, security teams have an important role in the prison environment as maintaining order. Moreover, the prison population is dominated by prisoners with unstable mental conditions and prone to riots. The rules regarding detention teams are contained in the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Number 33 of 2015 concerning Security in Correctional Institutions and State Detention Centers. This also applies to the Class II B Detention Center in Ponorogo. Therefore, this research will focus on how the role of the security team is implemented in supervising inmates at the Ponorogo class II B detention center and what the obstacles are. This research concludes that so far, the security team at the Ponorogo class II B detention center has carried out its duties in accordance with Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation No. 33 of 2015, but there are still several notes that need to be improved, such as improving the integrity of prison officers so that they can synergize better with security teams, improving more facilities and infrastructure, and several other things that still need to be improved.
