Abstract

Researchers found that students' gross motor skills are still not optimal, therefore proper stimulation is needed to train balance, strength and coordination related to muscle movement. Researchers tried to train motor skills using patterned floor media. The aim of this research is to determine the increase in gross motor skills of young children through patterned flooring. The type of research used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, the model used is the Kemmis and Taggart model which consists of 2 cycles with stages starting from planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results of the research show that there is an increase in children's gross motor development through patterned floor media in students. The achievement of the success indicator, namely in Cycle I, with a percentage gain of 70% of the overall average level of gross motor development in students, this can mean that children in increasing their gross motor development have experienced development according to expectations (BSH). Meanwhile, in Cycle II, the percentage obtained was 87.66% of the overall average level of gross motor development in students, this can mean that children in increasing their gross motor development have experienced very good development (BSB).
