Political developments in the general election era often present dynamics that affect the existence and dominance of political parties, especially in certain regions. In Nawangan Village, the dominance of the Democratic Party seems quite strong compared to other parties. The research aims to: 1) find out the form of domination of the Democratic Party in Nawangan Village, 2) find out the factors that influence the dominance of the Democratic Party in Nawangan Village. This research is a quantitative study with a population of 3,623 and a sampling of 97. The data collection techniques in this study are questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity tests and using simple statistical calculations.
The results of the study: first, there are two forms of domination in Nawangan Village, namely charismatic domination based on public trust in the character, charisma and personal abilities of leaders and traditional domination rooted in values, habits and traditions that are widely accepted by the community and passed down from generation to generation. Second, there are three factors that influence the dominance of the Democratic Party in Nawangan village, including historical blocks, intellectual and moral leadership and individual factors. Third, the relationship between the dominance of the Democratic Party and the factors that influence it in Nawangan Village is reflected through two main forms, namely charismatic dominance resting on individual factors, as well as intellectual and moral leadership that builds community trust. Meanwhile, traditional dominance is supported by historical blocks, namely the long relationship between the Democratic Party and the community that creates cross-generational political
