Abstract
This study looks at how the community's awareness of traffic laws in Pacitan Regency is
impacted by the implementation of Article 272 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Electronic
Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE). The efforts of the Pacitan Police's Traffic Unit to increase public
awareness of traffic laws and the challenges faced during the ETLE system's deployment are also
examined in this study using a qualitative methodology. Data was gathered through documentation,
interviews, and observation. According to the research findings, the Pacitan District Police's Traffic
Unit works to raise awareness of traffic laws by improving the ETLE site's quality, stationing
officers in high-violence areas, conducting community outreach, and testing the system prior to the
full implementation of ETLE in the Pacitan District. However, the ETLE system's deployment is
hampered by a number of issues. This includes disparities in awareness, a shortage of human
resources, inaccurate data, and still-complex computerised violation resolution processes.
Furthermore, some cars have licence plates from regions other than East Java Province.
