Abstract
This thesis is entitled "Adaptation of Journalism in the Era of Media Convergence
(Study in the RRI Madiun Journalism Program). This was motivated by the aim of
knowing the implementation of media convergence carried out by Radio Republik
Indonesia (RRI) Madiun. Media convergence is closely related to industrial change,
where industry is becoming more dynamic and dependent on technology. These
changes can take the form of changes in media, information, changes in ways of
communicating, changes in print media and changes in digital media users. The aim of
this research is a technological transformation that encourages broadcast media to enter
the digital realm. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type, data
collection methods using observation, interviews and documentation. The results of
this research show that Adaptation of Journalism in the Era of Media Convergence
(Study in the RRI Madiun Journalism Program) is in accordance with the theory
presented by researchers, namely the theory of adaptation strategy (John Williams
Bennett). The conclusion of this research is that RRI Madiun has applied all dimensions
of convergence on all digital platforms.
