Abstract

Abstract

The design of an automatic ammonia gas detection device in broiler cages aims to improve the efficiency of monitoring the cage environment and reduce the risk of livestock health. This system uses MQ-135 gas sensor to detect the concentration of ammonia gas and DHT11 sensor to monitor the temperature and humidity of the cage. NodeMCU ESP8266 serves as the main controller connected to the Telegram application to send real-time monitoring data. This tool is designed to detect ammonia levels in four categories: normal (≤15 ppm), low (16-25 ppm), medium (26-35 ppm), and high (>35 ppm). Based on these categories, the ventilation fan is automatically activated to increase air circulation, and an alarm sounds if ammonia levels exceed the threshold. The system also features a manual mode for fan control via Telegram. The test results show that the system can detect the temperature and ammonia gas in the cage and provide notifications via Telegram. This tool is expected to help broiler farmers in maintaining the health of livestock and increasing production through better cage management.
