Abstract

This research aims to develop and describe the feasibility of Android-based educational games, namely AMAE JOURNEY: Algebra Math Adventure Education Journey using Construct 2 as an interactive media to increase students' interest in learning and mathematical ability. This game is designed to make learning more interesting, motivate students, and help in understanding math with interactive technology-based games.
The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). The ADDIE model was chosen because the development model is systematized so that it can provide effective solutions to learning problems. Validation was conducted by material experts and media experts, while the practicality and effectiveness test involved 25 students in class VII of SMPN 2 Badegan as respondents. The development process of the Android-based AMAE JOURNEY educational game was developed systematically using the ADDIE model, which consists of Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate stages. Needs analysis was conducted through literature review and performance analysis. Product design includes material preparation, component selection, and supporting elements such as music and sound effects. Development was carried out using Construct 2, then validated by experts and revised if necessary. The product was tested on groups of students, then evaluated in terms of practicality and effectiveness.
The validation results showed high validity, 90% each from material and media experts. Practicality reached 83.20%, while the effectiveness test showed an increase in learning interest of 80.31% and mathematical ability of 86.40%. Thus, AMAE JOURNEY is declared feasible to use as learning media.
