Abstract

Financial performance measurement plays a very important role in manufacturing companies to provide critical information in managing their business effectively and efficiently. One of the effective approaches in maintaining strategic goals and objectives in business operations is by applying the Kaizen method. This study aims to determine the relationship between the application of the Kaizen method and the effectiveness and efficiency of financial performance in the sales department of the manufacturing company Style Labels Sdn. Bhd. (Sendirian Berhad). In addition, the study is also to find out the analysis of the application of the Kaizen method in assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of financial performance focusing on the sales part of the company Style Labels Sdn. Bhd. (Sendirian Berhad). The object of the research conducted on the manufacturing company Style Labels Sdn. Bhd. (Sendirian Berhad) is located in Selangor, Malaysia with a focus on the sales part. The research method in this study is qualitative descriptive. Primary data collection using questionnaires or surveys through online media Google Form and secondary data based on financial statement documentation of revenue from sales operations. This study was analyzed using the Kaizen method approach based on PDCA and 5S indicators. In addition, the analysis of effectiveness and efficiency measurements used the ratio of effectiveness and efficiency. The results of the study described that the relevance of the application of the Kaizen method contributes positively to the effectiveness and efficiency of the financial performance of the company Style Labels Sdn. Bhd. (Sendirian Berhad). This is based on the achievement of 86.4% of the PDCA approach and 100% of the 5S approach with the results of the most efficient Kaizen costing analysis of MYR RM 95,000/month which means that by applying the company's Kaizen method in its operational financial performance to be effective and efficient. In order to assess effectiveness and efficiency, the effectiveness results are shown based on the effective percentage value of 0.364% Gross Profit Margin and 0.172% Operating Profit Margin. Meanwhile, the efficiency results based on the efficiency value obtained in this analysis are 1.48% of the input-output ratio and 0.89% of the profit-cost ratio. These findings show that the application of the Kaizen method can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of financial performance based on the achievement of results.
