Abstract
Inventory management is a crucial aspect in maintaining operational efficiency of grocery stores. However, the manual stock recording that is still used at the Bu Bibit Grocery Store causes various problems, such as recording errors, accumulation of goods, and the risk of expired goods. To overcome this problem, this research aims to design an inventory management system with the FIFO (First In First Out) algorithm, which is a method that prioritizes the release of goods based on the expiration date and, if the same, based on the entry date of the goods. The system was developed using the waterfall method and implemented with the PHP programming language. The white box test results show that the system is able to carry out the main functions such as Create(), setAttribute(), Update(), and getAttribute() well, and is well integrated between the tb_item and tb_stock_item tables. The system also manages to automatically sort items based on expiration date using the usort() function, supporting more systematic and efficient stock rotation management. With a simple interface and structured stock data presentation, this system helps shop owners monitor the availability of goods in real-time and make the right decisions. The FIFO system designed has been successfully implemented and provides an optimal solution for managing inventory in grocery stores.
