Abstract

Indonesian is the state and national language used by all
Indonesians in many aspects of their lives. However, the functions of
the language have not yet been fully utilised effectively, resulting in
many language issues, particularly writing errors. One concrete
example of this mistake is the students' writing, especially their
essays. The purpose of this research is to outline various types of
writing errors, particularly spelling mistakes, found in the writings of
fourth-grade students at SDIT Qurrota A’yun. The data for this
research was obtained through documentation of students' writing
assignments and analysed using the Miles and Huberman model
analysis method. To ensure the validity of the data, the data sources
were triangulated. According to the research results, fourth-grade
students made 189 capitalisation errors, 32 spelling errors, and 146
punctuation errors. The results indicate that more directed and
continuous learning is still needed to improve students'
understanding of Indonesian writing rules.
