Children's growth and development require regular stimulation as early as possible and consistently at every opportunity. Stimulation is provided to stimulate children's basic abilities so they can develop optimally. This study aims to analyze the relationship between parental behavior in providing play stimulation and the fine motor development of preschool-aged children at SPS Melati, Pingkuk Village, Bendo District, Magetan Regency.
The research design used was correlational with a cross-sectional approach. The population was all preschool-aged children at SPS Melati, totaling 31 respondents. The sample was all preschool-aged children at SPS Melati, totaling 31 respondents. The sampling technique used was total sampling. Data collection used questionnaires and DDST observation sheets. And use the Likelihood Ratio test.
The results of this study obtained almost all 29 (94%) parents of respondents were categorized as having positive behavior in providing stimulation for children's play with almost all 25 (81%) of fine motor development of children aged 3-5 years categorized as normal. Based on the results of the analysis using the Likelihood Ratio test, the results of the ρ value (0.001) < 0.05 mean that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted so that there is a relationship between parental behavior in providing stimulation for children's play with the fine motor development of pre-school children at SPS Melati, Pingkuk Village, Bendo District, Magetan Regency.
Every parent should continue to accompany and provide appropriate stimulation according to their child's age in order to achieve optimal quality of fine motor development in their child.
