The development of the tourism sector is promising and yields benefits for multiple stakeholders, including the government, local communities, and private entities. Tourist destinations serve as significant economic drivers for communities. Through the presence of tourism sites, the local economy becomes invigorated, creating a domino effect across various economic sectors in the region. Ponorogo boasts numerous tourism destinations, one of which is located in Ngebel Subdistrict and is known as Telaga Ngebel. According to local residents, the government has played a substantial role in enhancing its potential and developing Telaga Ngebel as a tourism object. This is evidenced by numerous infrastructure projects around the lake and notable improvements in the accessibility of the roads leading to it. In qualitative research, as described by Sutopo and Arief (2010), the methodology is intended for descriptive and analytical exploration of phenomena, events, social activities, attitudes, and perceptions of individuals or particular groups. In this study, the researcher serves as the research instrument (human instrument). The selection of informants is conducted using the snowball sampling technique. This study aims to answer the research problem: "How is the governance and development of the tourism potential of Telaga Ngebel in Ngebel Subdistrict, Ponorogo Regency?
