Abstract
ABSTRACT
Wahidaini. The Internalization of Discipline Character Values through Co-Curricular Activities (A Case Study at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Campus 7, Kalianda, South Lampung). Thesis. Master of Islamic Education, Postgraduate Program, Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo, 2025. Supervisors: (1) Dr. Rido Kurnianto, M.Ag.; and (2) Dr. Aldo Redho Syam, M.Pd.I.
The objectives of this study are: (1) to identify and describe the process of internalizing the value of discipline through co-curricular activities at PMDG Campus 7; and (2) to identify and describe the outcomes of the internalization process of the discipline character value through co-curricular activities in shaping the students’ discipline at PMDG Campus 7.
This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation methods. This approach is chosen to focus on the core of the study by describing the condition of the research subjects based on actual situations encountered in the field. In this context, the researcher aims to describe both the process and the outcomes of the internalization of discipline character values through co-curricular activities at PMDG Campus 7, based on the data collected to gain a comprehensive understanding of the research focus.
The findings of this study reveal several key aspects that address the research objectives, namely: (1) The process of internalizing the values of discipline through co-curricular activities at PMDG Campus 7, Kalianda, South Lampung, includes: (a) designing a plan for the internalization of discipline character values within co-curricular activities; (b) determining appropriate methods for implementing the internalization of discipline values in these activities; and (c) conducting evaluations of the implementation of the discipline values internalization through co-curricular activities. (2) The outcomes of the internalization of discipline character values through co-curricular activities at PMDG Campus 7, Kalianda, South Lampung, include: (a) the establishment of habits and orderly living within the pesantren, family, and broader society; (b) the formation of noble character and personality; (c) the organization and regulation of pesantren life dynamics; (d) the enhancement of physical, intellectual, and spiritual education processes; and (e) the internalization of leadership spirit among the students. The findings of this study indicate that co-curricular activities in Islamic boarding schools are not merely supplementary programs, but are systematically designed, implemented, and evaluated as a strategic medium for the internalization of discipline character values.
