Abstract

Abstract
This research develops an IoT security system to prevent water pump theft on agricultural land, particularly in Ponorogo Regency. The system consists of a PIR sensor for human movement detection, an ESP32 microcontroller as the main processor, a LoRa module for wireless communication up to a radius of ±5 km, and a buzzer as a local alarm. Motion information is transmitted via LoRa to a receiver unit at home, processed by a second ESP32, and displayed via the Blynk application on a smartphone. The research method includes literature and field studies, hardware and software design, and comprehensive testing of each component. Test results show that the system detects motion within a sensor radius of 2–2.5 m and successfully sends signals up to a distance of 1.5 km with a response time of approximately 2 seconds. Distances greater than 1.5 km result in signal failure, resulting in an inactive alarm. The conclusion shows that this system is effective in detecting human movement and providing real-time notifications to users. However, communication range is limited to a distance of less than 1.5 km.
Recommendations for further development include: integrating ultrasonic sensors for an additional layer of detection, using backup power sources such as UPS or batteries, and implementing a waterproof enclosure and sensor cover to increase the system's resistance to physical damage.
