IMPLEMENTATION OF MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION INTERVENTION AND MUROTAL THERAPY IN CHRONIC KIDNEY FAILURE PATIENTS WITH ASSOCIATED NURSING PROBLEMS

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a disorder of kidney structure and function that results in the body's inability to maintain metabolism and fluid and electrolyte balance, ultimately leading to uremia. This condition not only impacts physically but can also trigger psychological disorders such as anxiety. Anxiety is a consequence of an individual's inability to respond to emotional or physical threats. This case report aims to implement Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Intervention and Murotal Therapy in a patient with Kidney Failure with anxiety-related nursing problems.
The design used was a case study using a nursing process approach based on the SDKI, SLKI, and SIKI approaches. A holistic assessment was conducted on Mrs. Y, 55, who was hospitalized at Dr. Harjono S. Ponorogo Regional Hospital from July 30 to August 4, 2025. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. After 5 days of nursing interventions, anxiety levels decreased from a SAS score of 85 to 20, indicating a decrease in anxiety levels after MBSR and murotal therapy.
The conclusion of this case study is that the application of MBSR and murotal therapy is effective in reducing anxiety levels in patients with chronic kidney disease. This intervention can be a safe, affordable, and easy-to-implement alternative nursing intervention, with educational support involving the patient's family.
