MENURIAL NURSING CARE FOR SCHIZOPHRENIA PATIENTS WITH NURSING PROBLEMS OF SENSORY PERCEPTION DISORDERS: AUDITORY HALLUCINATIONS

Auditory hallucinations are a common symptom experienced by clients with schizophrenia. This symptom is characterized by the perception of hearing voices that are not real and differ from normal thought processes. Generally, these voices are disturbing, offensive, or even command the client to perform actions that are harmful to themselves or others. This paper aims to apply psychiatric nursing care to clients with schizophrenia with sensory perception disorders in the form of auditory hallucinations.
The method used is a nursing process approach through a case study conducted from June 3, 2025, to June 7, 2025, in the Larasati Room of Dr. Arif Zainuddin Mental Hospital, Surakarta.
Based on the assessment results, the client was experiencing auditory hallucinations. Interventions were carried out for four days in accordance with the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI), including controlling hallucinations through reprimands, collaborative antipsychotic medication administration, deep breathing distraction, and activities (conversation). After the nursing interventions, the client agreed to control his hallucinations with the assistance of a nurse, and on the fourth day, the client refused to be taught how to control them. After the nursing interventions, the auditory hallucinations remained unresolved.
This nursing care aimed to increase the client's understanding of the hallucinations he was experiencing, enabling him to more effectively control and manage them.
