Abstract

The application of information technology in education is growing rapidly, including in student data management. MBS Prof. Hamka, Madiun City, as an educational institution, requires an efficient information system to manage student master data. This research aims to design and implement a student master data information system that utilizes a sequential search algorithm in its search process. This information system is designed to facilitate administrative staff in managing and searching student data quickly and accurately. The sequential search algorithm was chosen for its simplicity and ability to handle relatively large datasets, such as those found at MBS Prof. Hamka, Madiun City. The methodology used in this research includes needs analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The needs analysis was conducted by collecting data through interviews and observations. System design included the creation of flowcharts and database design. Implementation was carried out using the PHP programming language and MySQL as the database. System testing was conducted to ensure that the system functions properly and meets user needs. The research results show that the developed student master data information system can improve efficiency in student data management. The application of a sequential search algorithm allows for student data searches with adequate response times. This system also provides features such as adding, deleting, and updating student data, as well as generating student data reports. In conclusion, the student master data information system at MBS Prof. Hamka Madiun City, which uses a sequential search algorithm, was successfully developed and can make a positive contribution to the data management process at the school. The implementation of this system is expected to serve as a model for information system development in other educational institutions.
