The problem faced by the Administrative Division of Economy and Natural Resources at the Regional Secretariat of Ponorogo Regency is the significant increase in the volume of archives, which causes difficulties in the process of searching and managing archival data effectively and efficiently. This condition results in longer retrieval times for required documents, thereby hindering employee performance and reducing work productivity.

This study aims to design and implement a web-based archival management application by applying the sequential search algorithm as a data retrieval method. The sequential search algorithm is chosen due to its simple concept and its ability to perform data searches sequentially, making it suitable for small to medium-scale archival data.

The research methodology includes system requirements analysis, system design, application implementation, and testing of the archival search functionality. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the sequential search algorithm in the archival management application contributes positively to the effectiveness and systematic process of searching archival data by employees. The developed application demonstrates improved efficiency in archive management and faster document retrieval compared to the previously applied manual archival system.
