Abstract
ABSTRACT
THE APPLICATION OF 300 HEAD-UP POSITION TO INCREASE OXYGEN
SATURATION IN NON-HEMORRHAGIC STROKE PATIENTS WITH
NURSING PROBLEMS OF RISK FOR INEFFECTIVE CEREBRAL
PERFUSION

Stroke is a global health problem that is a major cause of disability and
the second leading cause of death in the world. One of the nursing problems that
arises in stroke patients is the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion, which requires
appropriate intervention to maintain the stability of brain tissue oxygenation. This
study used a descriptive case study method. The research subject was Mrs. M, a
non-hemorrhagic stroke patient with a nursing problem of risk for ineffective
cerebral perfusion at Marwa Ward, RSU 'Aisyiyah Ponorogo. The intervention
provided was a 30° head-up position. Nursing care was carried out for 4 days,
from December 23 to 26, 2025. After 4 days of implementation, the results showed
an increase in the patient's oxygen saturation. The nursing problem of risk for
ineffective cerebral perfusion was partially resolved, indicated by the patient's
more stable clinical condition. The application of a 30° head-up position is
effective in increasing oxygen saturation in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients with
a risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion. It is expected that this intervention can
become a standard for independent nursing care in optimizing cerebral tissue
oxygenation in stroke patients.
