Abstract
Ponorogo Regency has main economic strengths in agriculture, trade, manufacturing industry, and cultural tourism such as Reog Ponorogo, which encourages the development of the informal sector such as food and beverage vendors. Infrastructure development in Ponorogo, covering Jendral Sudirman Street, Gajah Mada Street, Sultan Agung Street, Ahmad Dahlan Street, HOS Cokroaminoto Street, Urip Sumoharjo Street, and Diponegoro Street, is being intensively carried out in the form of new pedestrian areas or facade renovations, as well as the construction of an octagonal ring road in Ponorogo, with a focus on main roads that serve as centers of economic activity. The road arrangement and the large number of informal sector traders have made Urip Sumoharjo Street one of the destinations of interest to visitors. The purpose of this research is to determine whether capital, education, length of business, and working hours have an effect on the informal sector (An Empirical Study of the Informal Sector on Urip Sumoharjo Street, Ponorogo Regency). This research uses a quantitative method, with the variables used being capital, education, length of business, and working hours. The results of the research show that capital, education, length of business, and working hours collectively have a significant effect on informal sector income. This is proven by the calculated F value being greater than the F table value, namely 10.812 > 2.534, and a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05, so it can be concluded that H04 is rejected and Ha4 is accepted, meaning that the variables of capital (X1), education (X2), length of business (X3), and working hours (X4) simultaneously affect informal sector income (Y).
