Enhancing the academic performance of students needs appropriate and
systematic learning management; nevertheless, research on academic learning
communities among elementary schools is still minimal. The present study seeks to
evaluate the planning, implementation, and assessment of the MIPA Community to
improve the academic performance of students at SD Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. The
study used a qualitative descriptive method with a case study design. The subjects of
the study were the headmaster, supervising teachers, and participating students of the
community. Data collection was done using observation, interview, and
documentation techniques, analyzed interactively. It was found that the effective
direction and proper management of the community lead to improvements in students'
academic performance, self-confidence, and critical thinking abilities.
