Petty offenses are a type of criminal offense that frequently occur in society and require prompt, appropriate, and proportionate handling to maintain public order. Law enforcement officials play an important role in handling petty offenses to promote justice within society. This study aims to examine, from a juridical perspective, the handling of petty offenses by law enforcement officials based on the provisions of the National Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code. This study employs a normative legal research method using a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. The results show that the National Criminal Code introduces a new paradigm by emphasizing restorative justice and proportionate sentencing, while the Criminal Procedure Code provides guidelines for expedited examination procedures. From a juridical perspective, the handling of petty offenses by law enforcement officials has been carried out in accordance with their legal authority and procedures while continuing to respect human rights.
