Land mafia practices are a land-related issue that can harm the public and undermine legal certainty. The implementation of electronic land certificates is one of the efforts to improve the security and transparency of land administration while minimizing land mafia practices. This study aims to examine the advantages and disadvantages of electronic land certificates and their effectiveness in minimizing land mafia practices at the ATR/BPN Office of Ponorogo Regency. This study employs an empirical legal research method with a qualitative approach through interviews and direct observation. The results show that electronic land certificates can limit the activities of land mafias through electronic signatures, restricted access, and barcodes or QR codes connected to the BPN system. The challenges include the need for data validation, preparation for media conversion, and limited public understanding. Based on the research findings, electronic land certificates are considered effective in supporting the prevention of land mafia practices within the ATR/BPN Office of Ponorogo Regency.
