This study aims to examine the trial process and the judge's considerations in deciding a case involving a simple lawsuit concerning breach of contract in Case Number 6/Pdt.G.S/2025/PN Mgt between PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero), Magetan Branch Office, Selosari Unit Office, as the Plaintiff and Paniyem Nurhayati as the Defendant. The issue examined in this study arises from a debtor-creditor relationship involving a non-performing loan that resulted in a breach of contract. This study employs a normative legal research method or library research by examining primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials related to simple lawsuits and breach of contract. The findings show that the examination process for a simple lawsuit consists of pretrial stages, including registration, examination of the completeness of the lawsuit, appointment of the judge and substitute court clerk, preliminary examination, scheduling of the hearing, and summons of the parties. The trial stages include examination and settlement efforts, presentation of evidence, and the issuance of a judgment. The judge's considerations were based on the existence of a legal relationship in the form of an agreement between the Plaintiff and the Defendant, the evidence supporting the claims, and the facts established during the trial indicating a breach of contract. The judge partially granted the lawsuit and ordered the Defendant to pay the remaining principal debt of IDR 39,396,971.00 and court costs of IDR 260,000.00.
