Abstract

Protests at the DPR/MPR Building constitute a form of public expression that can potentially lead to significant disturbances of public security and order. The 3rd Regiment of the Pioneer Troops of the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) serves as a specialized unit of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) with specific functions in managing mass disturbances. This study aims to examine the process of handling protests carried out by the 3rd Regiment of the Pioneer Troops of Brimob at the DPR/MPR Building and to identify the obstacles encountered during its implementation. This study employs an empirical legal research method using interviews and field observations as the primary approaches. The results show that the 3rd Regiment of the Pioneer Troops of Brimob implements security procedures in accordance with its function as the striking force of Polri in addressing disturbances of public security and order. However, its implementation still faces several obstacles that need to be addressed to ensure that security operations can be carried out more optimally, fairly, and in accordance with legal principles and the community's sense of justice
