at the Darussalam Bangunsari Islamic Boarding School, Ponorogo

Knowledge regarding scabies and personal hygiene habits among Islamic boarding school students is crucial, as these factors can influence the risk of
contracting the disease. This study aimed to determine whether the level of
knowledge and personal hygiene practices are associated with the incidence of
scabies among students at the Darussalam Bangunsari Islamic Boarding School in Ponorogo.

A quantitative research method was employed. The study sample consisted
of 93 students selected using simple random sampling. Data analysis involved
univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the chi- square test.

Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-
square test at α = 0.05. The results showed that the majority of respondents had poor knowledge (58 respondents (62.4%), while 35 respondents (37.6%) had good knowledge. Most respondents also had poor personal hygiene (59 respondents (63.4%), while 34 respondents (36.6%) had good knowledge. The incidence of scabies among respondents was relatively high, with 64 respondents (68.8%) experiencing scabies and 29 respondents (31.2%) not experiencing scabies.

The analysis showed a significant relationship between knowledge level and
scabies incidence, as well as between personal hygiene and scabies incidence
among students at the Darussalam Bangunsari Islamic Boarding School in
Ponorogo.
