Abstract

The problem raised and examined in this article is about the preventive efforts of the
Ponorogo Bawaslu in the projection of election contestation in 2024. The problem that
became the basis or background for the researcher's interest was related to the black record
of the performance of the Ponorogo Bawaslu in 2019 still leaving many problems, or in
other words missing several types of violations by election contestants, so the researchers
used the performance reference in 2019 aimed at knowing Bawaslu's affirmation. Ponorogo
in 2024 is mainly related to special preparations, both strategy and performance. The
method used in this research is descriptive qualitative by digging data through observation
and in-depth interviews with selected informants who have sensitivity to interpret political
events in Ponorogo. The results show that the Ponorogo Bawaslu already has preparations
to prevent election violations in 2024 in the form of holding coordination meetings with
stakeholders and other cross-sectoral institutions, increasing supervision, as well as
conducting face-to-face socialization activities and reviewing 2019 Election records as a
means of evaluation.
