Abstract
ABSTRACT Zain, Zulfa Nafida. 2022. The Role of Caregivers in Improving Self Confidence of Foster Children in the Orphans and Dhu'afa Al-Hikmah Orphanage of Siman Ponorogo Muhammadiyah Branch. Supervisor (1) Sigit Dwi Laksana, M. Pd.I and Supervisor (II) Aldo Redho Syam M.Pd.I. Keywords: Caregivers, Self Confidence, Foster Children The family as the first educational environment is very important in shaping the personality pattern and self-confidence of children. But in reality, not all children are lucky to get a complete family in their life journey. In such conditions, there is an institution called the Orphanage because the orphanage provides love and guidance like a family called a nanny. Researchers see that the Role of Caregivers in Increasing the Self Confidence of Foster Children at the Muhammadiyah Al-Hikmah Beton Siman Ponorogo Orphanage has fostered and guided in increasing the self-confidence of foster children, so with this the researchers wish to examine the role of caregivers in increasing the Self Confidence of foster children. This study aims to find out how the role of caregivers in increasing the self-confidence of foster children at the Muhammadiyah Al-Hikmah Orphanage, to find out the results of increasing the self-confidence of foster children at the Muhammadiyah Al-Hikmah Orphanage, to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors of caregivers in increasing self-confidence. foster children at the Muhammadiyah Al-Hikmah Orphanage. This research is descriptive qualitative. Researchers are tasked to focus on research by describing the data collected in the form of words or pictures instead of numbers. Then the data is collected through field notes, interviews, observations and documentation, then described so that the results of the study will describe in a realistic and systematic way the facts found in the field and provide clarity about the role of caregivers in increasing the self-confidence of foster children. While the technical analysis of data using the Miles & Huberman model includes: data collection, data reduction (data reduction), data presentation (data display), and drawing conclusions (conclusion). The results of this study can be concluded as follows: (1) The role of caregivers in increasing the self-confidence of foster children that caregivers have provided appropriate guidance and guidance in various ways and ways, such as holding a cult after maghrib prayers alternately, giving speeches, public speaking. (2) The result of the role of caregivers in increasing the self-confidence of foster children is that foster children are more confident in applying in their daily lives which are expected to be more focused in living the life to come. (3) The supporting factor is the personality of the child who is enthusiastic in the life of the orphanage, the inhibiting factor is the foster child who is not disciplined with the activities that have been implemented.
