Abstract
Many manufacturing companies ranging from small (UMKM) to large Big companies show their existence. Currently between small manufactures as well as between large manufacturers competing with each other, fighting strategies to show quality and be the best. Product quality control is one strategy that can be used in competition for a given quality between competing companies. Because this is an important thing conducted as a study material in improving quality. Six sigma is a method used to find and It also suppresses the occurrence of errors in business processes. So with the use of this method through the 5 stages of DMAIC can have an impact positive and can improve quality in the product production process. Objective This research is to find out about product quality control as a way overcome the minimization of product defects by using the six sigma method as an effort to improve product quality. This research method uses a quantitative descriptive method, with data collection techniques using observation techniques and also interviews. Using two sources of primary and secondary data. For research locations in do it at the Pabrik Tahu UD. Untung Jaya, Jl. Sedap Malam, Purbosuman, District Ponorogo, Ponorogo Regency, East Java. Based on the results of the research, it shows that during July 2022 the products that having defects there are two criteria, namely a soft texture of 96% or 2830 pieces of tofu and for broken/crushed texture as much as 4% or 130 pieces of tofu. For the month of July there are 14 days out of 31 days that experience disabilities over the limit. DPMO during July 2022 was 42,000 with a sigma level of 3.2. Most of the defects in this product are due to the inaccuracy of employees and lack of supervision from the owner both oversight of machines and tools as well employee supervision.
