Abstract
Leadership is a person's effort to exert an influence on subordinates to create cooperation and productivity at work in achieving a common goal. The development of ideas for women experiences a significant development every year. This can be seen from the increasing participation of women in Indonesian politics as well as in Jambon Village, Ponorogo Regency. Being a female leader becomes a challenge that is not easy. A patriarchal culture forces a female leader to implement a strategy in running the government she leads. The leadership of the female village head in Jambon Village is very interesting to study because in Jambon Village there have been many changes ranging from public services to infrastructure development and excellent community trust. This study provides an overview of the transformational leadership that exists in Jambon Village, Ponorogo Regency. This study describes the leadership of a female village head in Jambon Village, Ponorogo Regency using a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. In this study, information was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Using the theory of Bass & Riggio (2006) which argues that the popularity of transformational leadership may be due to a focus on motivating and developing followers according to organizational needs, inspiring and empowering followers to succeed. Transformational leaders talk about the value that leaders and subordinates are part of a group with a common goal. The results of the discussion from this study are that the transformational leadership of the female village heads in Jambon Village has been going quite well. The infrastructure of public trust and cooperation between village officials is a clear illustration of the success of transformational leadership led by women. The Village Head motivates all of his followers in running the government to provide some progress and change.
