Abstract

Communicating with family and friends is now not a problem anymore since the emergence of smartphones, so that it can affect the social behavior of teenagers who tend to like practical things. The rapid advancement of technology and information is now limitless. After the presence of smartphones that have many benefits, one of which is communication with each other over long distances. At MTsN 4 Madiun there is a superior class program where there are classes that allow students to bring smartphones when teaching and learning activities take place. In this class, students are allowed to access or use smartphones such as mobile phones, tablets and laptops to carry out e-learning teaching and learning activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between smartphone use and the social behavior of adolescents who use smartphones at MTsN 4 Madiun. This study used a correlation design with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were 70 students who were at MTsN 4 Madiun. The sampling technique used is random sampling. Measuring tool in this study using a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square statistical test. The Chi-Square results obtained a p-value of 0.001 where this value is smaller than α = 0.05, so it can be concluded that Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a relationship between smartphone use and adolescent social behavior at MTsN 4 Madiun. There is collaboration between nurses, teachers, and parents of students to always supervise and provide directions along with understanding for using smartphones as necessary so as not to affect the social behavior of the adolescents themselves.
