Abstract

The short documentary film titled Format Lama is a short documentary film successfully produced by the Swa Suara team from the University of Muhammadiyah Ponorogo. The purpose of this research is to find out how the design of a short documentary film entitled Old Format in describing the struggle and spirit of Sampan and Andi in maintaining the existence of Jathil lanang. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documents. The results of this study indicate that in the design of a short documentary film entitled Format Lama there are four stages, namely idea, pre-production, production, and post-production and from the results of the design produced a short documentary film entitled Format Lama which tells the story of the struggle and spirit of Sampan and Andi in maintaining the existence of Jathil lanang.
