Abstract
The purpose of this research is how to play engmetri (geometric angular) to improve the ability to recognize geometric shapes at BA 'Aisyiyah Kaponan II Mlarak Ponorogo. The geometric shapes introduced are rectangles, triangles, and circles. The type of research used is classroom action research, carried out in collaboration with classroom teachers. The research subjects were 11 children, consisting of 6 boys and 5 girls. The object of research is the implementation of an engmetri game (gengkleng geometry) to improve the ability to recognize geometric shapes. Data collection techniques using observation, documentation, and oral tests. The research instrument used an observation check list sheet, documentation, and an oral test guide. Data analysis techniques using qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. The results of the study showed that there was a gradual increase in the ability to recognize geometric shapes by playing engmetri (engkleng geometry). The increase in the ability to recognize geometric shapes can be seen from the indicators of children's ability to call and show geometric shapes, classify geometric shapes (circles, triangles and squares), call and point to geometrically shaped objects, describe geometric shapes. The increase in children's ability to recognize geometric shapes through the engmetri game (gengkleng geometry) can be seen from the increase in percentage from the Pre-Action stage and after class action is carried out. The results of observations at the Pre-Action stage of the child developing as expected and developing very well, only 1 child or 9.1%, after the action cycle I increased to 6 children or 54.5% and in cycle II it increased even better to 10 people children or 90.9%.
