Abstract
Direct learning is a learning model that is more teacher-centered and prioritizes effective learning strategies to expand information on teaching materials. This research aims to analyze the effect of Direct Learning education on the level of knowledge of elementary school children regarding disaster mitigation. The research design used in this research was pre-experiment with a research plan of one group pre-post test design. The population of Banaran State elementary school children in grades 4-6 was 61 respondents. The sampling technique used was Total Sampling with a sample size of 61. The research instrument used a questionnaire consisting of 15 questions. Data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon signed rank statistical test with a significance level of <0.05. The research results showed that before the Direct Learning education was carried out, the number of good respondents was 12 respondents, namely (19.7%), but after being given education, 35 respondents, namely (42.6%), their level of knowledge increased. The research results show that the p-value = 0.000. It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge about mitigation and the provision of direct learning education.
