Abstract

Cerebro Vascular Accident (CVA) that occurs in a person requires comprehensive treatment that requires active family involvement to provide good coping. This writing aims to determine the implementation of family nursing care in CVA patients with family coping inability problems. The method used is a case study with descriptive writing techniques. Participants in this study were families with CVA patients. Data analysis was done with narrative descriptive. Nursing care for Mr. M was conducted from June 30 to July 4, 2023. Mr. M with CVA disease and family Mr. M did not know more about CVA which was indicated by the family's confusion when the assessment was carried out. Mr. M experienced weakness in the right hand and right leg (the client's leg had hemiplegia). The nursing diagnosis that is enforced is the inability of family coping related to ineffective family health management. Nursing intervention, namely family coping support with the result criteria of improved family coping status. Based on the nursing actions performed on Mr. M, the final evaluation showed that the problem of health management nursing was not effectively resolved and the intervention was discontinued. Increasing family and patient knowledge appropriately according to patient conditions and knowing the importance of proper nursing for CVA patients, families can be supporters of patients in motivating patient recovery by carrying out appropriate coping.
