Abstract

This research aims to carefully investigate the process of forming a religious image in content uploaded by the @iqdammuhammad_ account on Instagram social media during January 2023. Using qualitative analysis methods, this research seeks to identify and reveal the patterns and strategies used by account owners to develop and strengthen its religious image. Data was collected through intensive observation of various types of posts including images, text, and interactions between account owners and their followers. The analysis was carried out by considering the religious values conveyed, either implicitly or explicitly, in each posted content. The research results show that the @iqdammuhammad_ account consistently conveys messages that emphasize religious values, such as obedience to Islamic teachings, positive social activities, and spiritual enlightenment. In addition, the content also uses various visual elements and stories to create a motivating and empowering experience for its followers. An in-depth analysis of the communication strategies implemented by these accounts also reveals patterns that are effective in strengthening religious identity and establishing close relationships with their audiences. The findings from this research provide deeper insight into how social media, especially Instagram, acts as an effective tool in shaping and strengthening religious images in the era of digital society. The implications of this research also invite further thought regarding the role of social media in shaping the religious identity of individuals and communities, and provide a basis for further research in this area.
